Ride the Waves at Latitude 10 Resort in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica

Great for: Families, Honeymooners, Avid and New Surfers, Wellness Travelers

Surfing is an intimidating sport to pick up.  The ocean is vast and unknown, paddling out often feels like drowning and here in North America, just putting on a wetsuit in preparation to plunge into the frigid temperatures can be a challenge.

Begin your days with yoga on the beach followed by a 2-hour lesson with a private surf instructor. Your breakfast of gallo pinto & a fruit smoothie is well deserved before a mid-day siesta in your hammock with a good book. Take your board out again for an afternoon session then stroll the beaches or bike into town for dinner in one of Santa Theresa’s great restaurants. Mix in a massage, horseback riding on the beach or a morning trip to the Cabo Blanco Nature Preserve to hike to waterfalls and spot wildlife and repeat for a week. You’ll return home with a newfound passion for the ocean and surfing and a solid base to build on.

Relaxing in a hammock with a good book is an ideal way to recover between surf sessions
