The Villa Suites are designed for the modern explorer who prefers a surplus of space in his or her Costa Rican escape. The two Suites, Villa Estrella and Villa Ultra, feature all of the amenities you’ll find in our villas plus a separate living room with spectacular ocean views. Each suite has a private infinity-edge swimming pool, natural stone terrace, and ample room for activities. The ocean views and lush tropical landscaping create the comforting sense that you’re alone in the jungle, just with all of the modern comforts. Villa Estrella is made with natural stones, including his and her sinks and an indoor/outdoor shower while Villa Ultra includes teak wood floors and a handmade bathtub.

Located in one of the world’s seven Blue Zones and nestled between surf-destination Santa Teresa to the north and the Cabo Blanco Nature Preserve to the south, Mal Pais is quaint, bohemian and eclectic. A nature lover’s paradise, Casa Chameleon at Mal Pais is an adults-only, half board hotel tucked away in a remote part of the Costa Rican jungle. Accessible only by a 4×4 road, each of the 10 rustic villas are completely unique in character and composition, sharing a deep respect for the native culture while also promising an uninterrupted, peaceful and personal experience. Guests are encouraged to commune with others and enjoy the simple pleasures of this uniquely beautiful location. Other options for mobility include access to an ATV, which are common on the peninsula, or allowing us to arrange a rental car, taxi or private driver.
