La Lancha Resort
La Lancha Resort, owned by Francis Ford Coppola, is nestled within the rainforest region of the Peten overlooking the beautiful Lake Peten Itza, 45 minutes from Tikal. Winding paths lead to ten secluded guest casitas, each of which is brightly decorated with native art furnishings. It is a short walk to the lake where you can swim, canoe, or kayak. There are numerous trails for hikes to explore the local flora and fauna and for bird watching.
