Pacuare Lodge

Located on a private reserve that forms part of the largest network of protected areas in Central America, the Pacuare Lodge is located in a rainforest overlooking the Pacuare River. National  Geographic lists the river as one of the world’s top ten scenic rivers.

Best described as sustainable tourism, environmentally inclined travelers can rest in organic linens knowing that every care was taken to protect the earth. Food is locally grown, the staff is local, and much of the stunning interior is made using sustainable elements.

Rooms: With 3 levels of accommodations, all rooms have private decks with hammocks. Many rooms include private sitting areas, in room telephones to communicate with the main lodge/bungalows, private spring fed pools, safe-deposit boxes bathrobes and more.

Highlites: The beautiful pools, conference rooms, lush grounds and exquisitely maintained spas are breathtaking, but perhaps most memorable is the incredible experience of dinging in the Nest: a platform 60 feet above the jungle floor in the branches of a 100 year old Kapok tree (considered a sacred tree by the ancient Mayans). Also, getting to this exquisite eco-lodge is an adventure in itself. Guests arrive and depart via raft on the Pacuare River.
